The Annual Music in the Mountains Folk Festival is coming to the Burnsville Town Center on Saturday, September 21 from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

The Annual Festival, sponsored by Toe River Arts and now in its 34th year will honor Bill and Judy Carson.

According to the Toe River Arts Council, the Carsons have "devoted their time to to preserving the history, heritage and culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the historic Orchard at Altapass by protecting the underlying orchard land with its apples, wetlands, butterflies, and other natural features; and educating the public about the Appalachian experience."

The Festival line up features musical performances from Tru Blu, Terry McKinney and Tom Sparks, Randy Flack, Sam McKinney, Rob Levin and Will Ritter. The evening will begin with the great mountain sounds of the Toe River Arts Traditional Arts Program for Students (TAPS) and will be hosted by Emcee, Bruce Ikard.

Attendees will experience "an evening of entertainment resonating to the old and the new."

Music In The Mountains Folk Festival is planned as a tribute to the region’s diverse musical heritage.
